I hope everything is going well for all of you~
I've noticed that when I use my journals, it is all tags. So, I thought I should use my journal function on DA more often and; hence, I'll post some random stories/memories for your amusement~ Here is one short memory and a longer story. Read it if you like ^^

Memory #1: Unwanted Visitor
I was taking a nap on a sleeping bag in the storage room of my parents' first restaurant. I was around Grade One, and my parents and bro were busy working -- either in the kitchen or outside to attend to the customers' needs. I don't know why I woke up suddenly... It might have been the strange sensation I felt as if someone was watching me...
When I opened my eyes, I saw eight eyes of a yellow-and-black striped spider watching me and inching closer towards my face. My body shot straight up. We both stared at each other until the spider heard a loud ruckus in the kitchen and ran off.
This was probably the start of my fear of spiders.

Memory #2: Musical Inspiration
I was being escorted by my teacher to the assembly room (aka gym), along with my fellow classmates. I am still in Grade One and we were told to sit on the cold gymnasium floors, near the front of the entrance. Every Thursday, my school always had an assembly -- mostly made up of long-winded speeches and upcoming events that usually only involved with the senior students. Everything that happened on this day was a blur.
Well, not all was a blur because I do remember one moment when a senior student went up to the apartment-sized piano and began to play for the school. It was a beautiful classical piece, which later on, I've found out that it was the popular Beethoven piece, Fur Elise. When I got home, I told my parents that I wanted to play the piano. As I left to my room, I only remember the worrisome looks on my mom and dad's faces.
Many years have passed and no sign of a piano. I am now in Grade Five and I was getting into my athletic side. My friends and I were discussing that once we were in Grade Six, we should try-out for the basketball team. At the time, my home had a cement driveway, so I thought it would increase my odds if I set-up a mini-basketball court to practice my shooting and dribbling.
I asked my parents if I could get a basketball and they told me to come with them to a store. I thought I was going to pick out a basketball, but to my surprise, it was an instrument store. My dad said I can play on the keys of the pianos to see if I like the sound it produces. Yamaha was (and still is) a popular brand, so it wasn't a surprise that it was really expensive. But I was sold by an older model called Bach & Kranich... and for an added bonus, it was cheaper.
So, that's how I started to play the piano for approximately nine years and still counting. But as I look back, I had always believed that my parents bought it for me because they didn't want me to play basketball.
